This is more true than you know. I am in a family that currently has 21 living siblings (no, I am not joking).

LOL. No it is actually from three women. After my mom divorced my dad, she re-married a guy with 14 kids. Add her 4 and that's 18. My mom died about two years ago and one of my step-brothers was killed in Iraq. My step-father remarried again and she brought four more kids, for a total of 21 living. But still, 14 (actually 15 because their first died when he was only a few hours old) from one woman is amazing in and of itself!

It's a huge Mormon family (actually not all of them are TBM; 11 of them, including myself, are not strong in the church). Add their spouses and kids and that's one full house! Plus the belief of my step-father that he's going to be a polygamist in heaven with at least three wives.

It's insane how many kids there are. I don't see anything beneficial from it, except for the church because big families make their numbers grow faster and their bank accounts fill faster. But at the family level, I can see no advantage, at all, of such a big family. How can you possibly give personal attention to each child on a regular basis? Almost all of them has some kind of issue. The parents did it in faith, and over half of the kids have left or are not strong in the church. DOH!

But just remember, it's a commandment. The more kids you pop out the more you're doing a huge favor for god.
